Banks in Australia and New Zealand have not adopted IBAN, and tend to use Bank State Branch codes for domestic transfers and SWIFT for international.
This happens where the BBAN has its own check digits that use the same algorithm as the IBAN check digits.
If you do not specify a country the search engine will search the entire Bank Identifier Codes database for a bank name. A similar English language IBAN checker that is restricted to ECBS member country bank accounts is available on their website.
